The Flame Temperature Program utilizes Python to extract temperature data from video imaging of blast and combustion events. The images below show flame temperatures from a test in the COMET series.
Streak imaging is a tool that is used by leveraging the Matlab Image Processing Toolbox. It allows us to easily measure shock and fireball progression over time using video data.
Streak images are produced by taking a row of pixels in the same location from each frame in a video. These rows are then stacked in time order to create an image like the one shown here.
